We are now starting the third week of quarantine in America since the outbreak of COVID-19, and a lot has changed. Many of us are finding that this is a big change to our schedules; we're staying in and working from home. Our schools and jobs have either switched over solely to online or have closed entirely. Whatever your situation may be, there is no doubt that it is incredibly different than before. With this new schedule, and nowhere to go, it can be tempting to stay in bed and in your pajamas all day every day, but this is not a good habit to fall into.
A pajama day can be fun, but staying in the same pajamas for days on end can be poor for your mental health. It's important to care for ourselves, especially now when we have the extra time to do so. It's still vital that we get up in the morning, make our beds, do our skincare routines, and, yes, get dressed.
I know I've probably lost many people at "get up in the morning," but hear me out! Doing these things and getting dressed, even with no place to go, can make you feel more productive and prepared for the day. Now there's no need to get dressed in your finest outfit or to even slip into some jeans. Changing out of your pajamas and into something else in general can help. Here are a few of my favorite new lounge wear looks that I've been sporting for quarantine!

This first outfit is my new favorite to wear around the house. The top and bottoms are from Aerie, which is a part of American Eagle that really specializes in underwear, pajamas, lounge wear, and swim wear. I honestly love Aerie as much as I love American Eagle because they have nice quality clothing and I love the beachy, sweet, casual styles that they have.
The top is the Aerie Cropped Tank in the color "ballet pink" and the name of the color was so cute that I had to get it. I'm about 5'1 in height and the cropped tank stops just at my belly button in the size XS. This, along with the scoop neck, really gives you a nice shape even for just lounging around the house in. It's fitted but stretchy, so it doesn't feel like I'm being suffocated like some fitted clothes. Plus the material is so soft.
The bottoms are the Aerie Sunday Soft Short in the color "medium heather gray." The shorts are cut really short and are also highwaisted, which I think is very flattering with any cropped top. They also have an elastic band to help them fit and stay around your waist. Like the top, they are super soft and comfortable and I love the cutoff look it has. And the best part? They have pockets!
I enjoyed both the top and bottoms so much that I bought more in the different colors available and I am not disappointed! They're perfect for looking cute and being comfortable at home. And in the picture above I've just paired it with a scrunchie from Claire's and one of my Megan Hess books.

This next outfit is a matching lounge set from Shein/ Romwe, which many people are skeptical about with it being an online store. I have to say, with Romwe you really get what you pay for. I've gotten shirts for three dollars that do, in fact, feel like three dollars, and then I've gotten outfits for $20 that are of much better quality and earn me a few compliments throughout the day. However, I wasn't too picky about the quality of this set since I knew I'd only be wearing it in the house.
I found this set for about $12, and the quality wasn't that bad, but definitely not something I would wear anywhere else but at home. It's pretty lightweight material but the black color saves it from being see through. I ordered this in a size small, and the top stops just at my belly button. It's also comes with a line of white buttons down the front, which can be opened and closed however you like, and they're sewn on pretty well. Mine has gone through about two washes and the buttons are still nicely intact.
The shorts are also highwaisted with an elastic band to help them stay up. I like the shape you get with a crop top and highwaisted bottoms, and think it's a flattering combination for any body type. The set is also pretty comfortable and nice for wearing in the house for your day to day home activities.
Above I've paired it with a matching black scrunchie and then a Hershey's chocolate bar because... well, who hasn't been snacking in quarantine?

Last, but not least, I've paired a cropped cami with another pair of the Aerie shorts. The top is from Gilly Hicks under Hollister. Hollister is my second favorite place to get clothes, under American Eagle. Gilly Hicks specializes in similar things that Aerie does, such as underwear, bras, pajamas, and lounge wear.
This is one of the first Gilly Hicks items I've bought. The top is the Lace-Back Seamless Crop Cami in the color white. The double spaghetti straps are really cute, and I like the shape of it. This is much more cropped than the other tops, and fits more like a bralette. The entire back is made entirely of sturdy lace in rows of different geometric patterns. It's also fitted and stretchy, but the XS in Gilly Hicks feels much tighter than the XS tops from Aerie. Still, it's very cute and I love love love this cami!
The bottoms are another pair of Aerie Sunday Soft Shorts in the color "heather frost." As I said, I love these shorts so much I got more pairs in different colors. I also have a third pair in the color "succulent olive."
Above, I've paired it with another scrunchie and a book from my Intro to Ethics class in the spirit of starting online classes.
