Hello readers, and welcome back! I hope this weekend has been cozy and relaxing for you. This past week, on the 27th, was my twentieth birthday! It was a really nice celebration that my step-mother set up for me, and I was also lucky enough to receive some beautiful gifts from my parents that I'm excited to share with you all.

So first thing's first, my birthday morning had started a little earlier than usual at around seven that morning. I really wanted to be up early to clean my room and get ready for my online class (I am currently attending college for writing). But as I was preparing for class by getting my morning coffee, my step-mom was rushing me out of the kitchen, but promised to fix my coffee for me. Well, when she came up to my room, it was actually more than that-

She had prepared me a birthday breakfast, which she wants to do as a new birthday tradition! It was basically a pick and choose breakfast of all of my favorite breakfast foods. I'm not really into a big breakfast, but I love something quick like a yogurt or bagel or fruit to start my day so this breakfast tray was basically breakfast heaven for me.

Then I had finally finished class, I was so delighted to receive my first birthday gift! It was this gorgeous flower arrangement from my boyfriend. I absolutely love to receive flowers; I think it's such a timeless gift. He also told me it was called the "hugs and kisses" bouquet, which is really sweet!

Then around six at night, my family and I celebrated my birthday together. They surprised me by throwing me a Tiffany's themed tea party for dinner at our house! I was basically not allowed downstairs for most of the day, so I knew they were planning something but I didn't know what.

It was a beautiful Tiffany blue set up, and the table was adorned with decorative pearls and diamonds. We had fruit salad, chicken salad sandwiches from my favorite place to eat, Chicken Salad Chick, and there was blue cake and macarons. The tea was vanilla chai, which is also one of my favorites, and overall it was a really nice dinner. I even got to dress up, and my family was dressed up as well, which was nice.

After dinner and cake, it was time to open gifts. I had no idea what I wanted for my birthday- Christmas wasn't too long ago and my parents do such a great job at getting me beautiful gifts, even gifts I didn't know I wanted. They just know me so well, so although I wasn't too sure about what I wanted, I knew I would love anything they got me.

One of the first gifts I opened was a January Garnet Barbie from their Birthstone Collection. One of my hobbies is that I am a doll collector! I love dolls with intricate clothing designs and prettily painted faces. This doll was actually one I had before as a child, but unfortunately I had taken her out of the box, so I’m really glad I have a second chance to have her! She wears such a pretty looking garnet-colored, floor lengthen gown and a garnet pendant necklace.

Next I opened the Disney's Cinderella set from Pandora! I saw this in a video by my favorite fashion blogger, FreddyMyLove. Cinderella is my favorite story so of course I really liked the set. The set is in sterling silver and the necklace pendant and earrings are in the shape of pumpkin carriages. The set also has matching icy-blue kind of color.

For my next gift, I opened this really cute pink skincare fridge from Vanity Planet. I like to keep my facemasks and rose water cold because they feel much more refreshing on my face that way. Vanity Planet just also has really nice skincare gadgets, and they're almost always available in pink!

Then I got a tea set with these really pretty details of pink flowers and blue butterflies. I really like tea and I like to host tea parties for my family. I always imagine years from now, when I have my dream house, that I have a pink, Victorian-style tea room where I can host tea parties and brunches. As much as I love tea, this is my first full tea set, which makes it even more special.

For this last gift, this is something I had been wanting for a long while now. There were always Tiffany necklaces on my Pinterest boards, and of course every girl wanted the Return to Tiffany heart tag toggle necklace. And honestly, it was such a gorgeous necklace but I knew if I wanted something so classic like a Tiffany necklace that I wanted something a little more me. So when I saw the Double Heart Charm necklace, and that it came in pink, I pretty much fell in love with it. I kept a Safari tab open on my phone at all times with the page of the necklace, and every day I would just look at it. So when I opened the little blue box to see the necklace inside, I was thrilled. It's so dainty looking and cute, and since it's pink it goes so well with my wardrobe. My dad also had my initials engraved on the back of the pendant, which makes it so personalized and even more special.

Overall, it was a really nice birthday celebration, and I was happy to be able to just do something with my family at home. I still can't believe it- I'm really twenty years old! It still doesn't even feel real. Nothing feels different just yet, but I heard that being in your twenties is like a second puberty, only it's centered more around your mental health and self discovery. Scary... but exciting, too.

Keep things sweet!

-xoxo, The Sugarscape
